Upcoming S-230 : Crew Boss

Prerequisites: Qualified as a FFT1, Successful Completion of S-290
Prework: Online component – Approx. 3 hours

This is a blended course, the online portion must be completed prior to the in person learning. This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to perform the duties of the Crew Boss (CRWB) position, as described in the NWCG Incident Position Standards for Crew Boss, PMS-350-98. Topics include travel and check-in in, briefings, assigning tasks and assessing crew performance, implementing fire line duties, mop-up, firing operations, using aerial resources, medical emergencies, and wildland urban interface.
